So I know I'm a little late for this, but I've decided to watch some good Anime films or series. I like stuff that is more religious/magicky and less robots. Stuff that I've seen and enjoyed are Fullmetal Alchemist, Witchhunter Robin, Samurai X, and Princess Mononoke. I'm obviously and Adult Swim fag so help me find some good stuff.

On a side note, I need some new kung-fu, karate, samurai, and such movies. Maybe some manga too... I dunno.

That's about all I know in Anime though. Well, I'm excluding Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokemon, and I think my reason is obvious.

Bleach: Manga > Anime.
Naruto: First "part" (first 200 or so episodes, before Shippuuden) are good, Shippuuden bored me after 55th episode.
Shaman King: Great anime, although I miss the last episode every time the show's on TV...

Pick up everything with Miyazaki's name on it. I like 12 Kingdoms, but if you enjoyed Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh, that might be too slow for you. Look up Slayers and Record of Lodoss War for some swords and sorcery.

My most beloved anime is Ghost in the Shell:Stand Alone Complex, but it's more technological/scifi (with some very cool stuff Matrix-like) than fantasy.

try Karas, its got kind of got robots but not like mech or anything or gundam. Really epic and stuff one of my favourites with amazing battles

From the current anime season, I'd recommend Kurozuka (Think Vampires + samurai meets sci-fi + cyborgs in a good way!), Casshern: Sins (Post-apocalypse version of the older Casshern anime from the 70's) and possibly Ga-Rei Zero. (First episode will make you go "WTF?!", the rest is filled with zombies, drama and ass-kicking action).

I'll also second Gungrave (Goodfellas meets Dawn of the Dead, just don't judge it on the first episode) and toss in Black Lagoon if you haven't seen it already (season 3 in the works for sometime next year along with a second season of FMA!).

EDIT: I can't believe I almost forgot this one!

Detroit Metal City. It's like metalocalypse but where the lead singer is a high school student and has a very funny case of self denial. He tries to balance his "normal" lifestyle along with his death metal lifestyle. Can't wait for the live action movie to be released here. I heard it ends in a battle of the bands between the band that the show is named after and Gene Simmons.

Seconding the live action Casshern movie but I have also heard some bad reviews of it so I'd take it with a grain of salt maybe.

Yes, support what you love. I just wish more studios have caught on the idea of allowing us to purchase the ability to watch online subbed versions within hours of airing. Only recently have they caught onto this idea, too bad it's not something I'd normally watch.

Karas is beautiful. I highly suggest it.

Also, for anime/manga, I just recently finished watching the Trigun Dubbed (yeah, really) anime, very kindly uploaded to YouTube by YeIIow13. The manga (haven't finished this yet, will take a while) and anime follow slightly different storylines, but Slaanesh-dammit Vash is adorable.

Hmm, well that's more western meets sci-fi (kind of like Cowboy Beebop and Outlaw Star, but not actually in space and with less lazors, in fact it's a little closer to Firefly... but not by much).

Hmm, I'm sure there's a site along the lines of "AnimeDB"... *shrugs*

Maybe I'm just a sucker for a guy with good gun skills.

I personally find Veoh to be a better video streaming site. Partly because I could download videos, send them to a memory stick and watch them on my TV through my XBox.

For stuff that is available for purchase, I usually find pre-ordering via Amazon to be good.

Bleach sucks, because none of the characters ever die.

Naruto anime sucks due to fillers that ruin it totally, manga is awesome though.

Those are by far the best anime recommened on this thread.
